Towering larches and stone pines line the path for long stretches. For this reason, the route is also recommended on hot summer days. From time to time you pass through clearings, side valleys and alpine meadows, which offer a beautiful view of the valley floor. Some of these viewpoints along the road are, for example, the Varuna branch or the fallow Val in the unspoilt Val d'Ursé. These points live up to the name of the trail: the "Panoramic Trail". The view ranges from the shimmering green of Lake Poschiavo to the mountains of nearby Valtellina.

A particularly beautiful place is the high plateau of Selva. This terrace was created at the end of the last ice age, on the edge of the melting glacier. Today there is a village with two small churches.

A bus service is available for the descent to the valley in the summer months.
It is mandatory to book the bus service at least one hour in advance.
