Description

The excursion starts in Piaz (reachable by car or a small bus on call). On a dirt road you pass a valley and proceed slightly uphill in the forest of oaks and firs. After about 30 minutes you reach San Romerio. The path of the charcoal burners begins uphill above the meadows and vegetable gardens of San Romerio. After 150 meters of marked walk (white and red symbol) a small path branches off on the left that goes into the woods indicated by a wooden arrow. Further on you enter again among the trees and pass by a perfectly preserved "carbunera" (the clearing where coal was once produced), up to the highest point of the trip (m 1975). Downhill you pass in front of an area equipped for barbecue: out of the woods you walk along a dry stone wall until you return to the church of San Romerio. The return to Piaz takes place following the dirt road traveled on the outward journey.
