The track winds in many bends to overcome the difference in altitude: an impressive sight!

From the cavaglia high valley, which had developed into a village with a school, shop and restaurant for several decades due to the construction of the railway and power plant, you descend over the countless, well-preserved mountain pastures surrounded by forest and hedges to Poschiavo, the main town of the valley.   

A detour to the accessible glacier mills of Cavaglia is always worthwhile. The stones caused to rotate by the strong currents of the prehistoric glacier water have ground the glacier mills in the rocks and shaped it into smooth cavities and breakthroughs.
