Casa Matossi - Lendi

Lorenzo Eugenio Matossi, grandson of “The Philosopher” Lorenzo Eugenio Matossi (1852-1925) is the grandson, son, brother, cousin, uncle and father of emigrant confectioners and café owners from Poschiavo, an entire dynasty, active first in France and later mainly in Spain. Lorenzo's father Francesco and his uncle Lorenzo founded two companies in Madrid and Bilbao. They opened the first Cafés Suizo and then expanded to many other locations. By 1891, there were more than forty cafés in Spain run by people from Valposchiavo.
