sConfines - Festival of Cultural Smuggling

For three days, Tirano will be transformed into a vibrant open-air Alpine hub, where sounds, stories and knowledge intertwine. With concerts and musical performances bringing the squares to life, encounters with artisans and farmers who preserve ancient crafts, and workshops and interactive sessions inviting everyone to get involved, the festival becomes a place of discovery and wonder.

Installations and storytelling about Alpine culture take the audience on a sensory journey through tradition and creativity, transforming the town into a veritable crossroads of communities and shared passions.

PROGRAMME

9.00 am Welcome for participants, breakfast and a brief welcome in Piazzetta Trombini

9.15 am Screening and short talk on how the theme of smuggling can be explored in relation to the promotion of the Baruffini area, presented by Fulvio Schiano of Borgo Baruffini, at Local Hub, Palazzo Foppoli, Conference Room, First Floor.

10.00 am Hike with a walking group led by Prof. Pennati, an ATS-accredited walking guide, and the organisers of sConfini. Ascent to Baruffini, a significant location linked to smuggling, along the Sentiero Valtellina trail to Baitelli. Duration: 2.5 hours, tourist level. Cancelled in the event of bad weather.
